The Technical Wishes team at Wikimedia Deutschland is planning to make reusing references easier. For our research, we are looking for wiki contributors willing to show us how they are interacting with references.

• The format will be a 1-hour video call, where you would share your screen. More information here.
• Interviews can be conducted in English, German or Dutch.

• Sessions will be held in January and February.

Campanya a xarxes: el mot preferit en català

Hola!

Com sabeu, porto el compte del Viccionari a X amb l'objectiu de donar a conèixer el projecte i incrementar-ne les visites (i, si es pot, captar nous editors). A dia d'avui som la versió lingüística del Viccionari amb més seguidors, impacte i activitat a X.

Per tal d'incrementar aquest impacte he pensat en encetar una campanya similar a "Busquem la paraula preferida en català" que, per mitjà d'un sistema d'enquestes eliminatòries, serveixi per triar quin és el mot preferit de la gent. L'objectiu, evidentment, no és trobar la paraula sinó les lectures i difusió del projecte que guanyarem pel camí, juntament amb poder fer una crida a la millora de les entrades relatives a les paraules en competició.

Voldria saber quina és la opinió de la comunitat viccionaire (sé que som poquets, essencialment Vriullop, ‎Pablussky, ‎Arnaugir, ‎Dafne07, ‎Brunnaiz, ‎Limotecariu i un servidor —disculpeu si em deixo a algú) sobre la proposta. En cas que no hi hagi objeccions, faria també una nota de premsa per si cap diari, web o publicació se'n vol fer ressó (la compartiré també perquè hi feu les aportacions que cregueu pertinents).

Hi ha hagut alguna campanya d'aquest tipus, per exemple Les 10 paraules més boniques del català de gencat. Recordo algunes crítiques per part de lingüistes per no delimitar uns criteris massa subjectius, una barreja de sonoritat, significat únic, originalitat sense cognats... @Vriullop: Sí, justament per això havia pensat en enfocar-ho com a preferida i no com a més bonica. S'entén que el criteri és subjectiu (per això enquestes obertes i no criteris lingüístics). This year, the term of 4 (four) Community- and Affiliate-selected Trustees on the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees will come to an end [1]. The Board invites the whole movement to participate in this year’s selection process and vote to fill those seats.

The Elections Committee will oversee this process with support from Foundation staff [2]. The Board Governance Committee created a Board Selection Working Group from Trustees who cannot be candidates in the 2024 community- and affiliate-selected trustee selection process composed of Dariusz Jemielniak, Nataliia Tymkiv, Esra'a Al Shafei, Kathy Collins, and Shani Evenstein Sigalov [3]. The group is tasked with providing Board oversight for the 2024 trustee selection process, and for keeping the Board informed. Here are the key planned dates:

• May 2024: Call for candidates and call for questions
• June 2024: Affiliates vote to shortlist 12 candidates (no shortlisting if 15 or less candidates apply) [5]
• June-August 2024: Campaign period
• End of August / beginning of September 2024: Two-week community voting period
• October–November 2024: Background check of selected candidates
• Board's Meeting in December 2024: New trustees seated

Normalment en l'etimologia d'un mot es fa constar la data de la primera documentació, a la manera del Gran diccionari de la llengua catalana. El dubte em sorgeix arran de la paraula emfitèutic, que en aquesta forma, com diu el GDLC, apareix per primera volta al Gazophylacium catalano-latinum (1696), però que com a mínim ja apareix en una entrada de 1286 del llibre de cort de justícia de València sota la forma emphiteòtich o emfiteòtic (Diéguez, Maria Àngels. El llibre de cort de justícia de València (1279-1321). Estudi lingüístic, 310.). @MrPotato1010 Això és com formenterer o formenterenc, són sinònims, de la mateixa arrel, amb diferents sufixos, diferent etimologia, potser diferent data i història. En principi la data de documentació hauria de ser la que correspon a l'entrada i l'etimologia, incloent-hi variants ortogràfiques però no formals. Entenc aquí la paradoxa d'un concepte feudal documentat molt tard. Es pot explicar alguna cosa com "1696 amb variants en català antic emfiteòtic, emfiteuticari". Pot servir el Coromines (b 23-33) que documenta emfiteusi, emfiteuta i emfitèutic en Lacavalleria, però indica les variants anteriors. @Musrar No tenim aplicat el format anglès amb els sinònims i antònims sota cada accepció. El format recomanat és

Enllaços a seccions de llengua

M'he trobat que han deixat de funcionar els enllaços amb codi de llengua, per exemple sobre#es no va a la secció de castellà. Això estava muntat via la plantilla {{-es-}} que a més de fer el títol de secció "Castellà" hi afegeix id="es" per usar-lo d'àncora. Hi ha hagut algun canvi al Mediawiki que fa que aquest id quedi ocult darrere d'altres id. Imagino que és part d'un projecte per a introduir àncores a les seccions amb una icona per a copiar i enganxar. A fr.wikt encara funciona. Pel que he entès, allà tenen un giny que reconstrueix els enllaços cercant un id previ. M'ha semblat obscur, difícil d'entendre com per importar-lo i que es pot trencar amb futurs canvis. M'ha semblat més fàcil modificar el mòdul:enllaç que s'encarrega de la gran majoria enllaços. Ara amb {{e|es|sobre}} apunta a sobre#Castellà. Hi ha molt poques plantilles que facin un enllaç manual sense passar pel mòdul. En aquesta mateixa secció, la definició és amb un enllaç [[#ca|sobre]]. Aquests casos no funcionen, però no em sembla cap problema perquè va al principi de pàgina. Els podria canviar amb bot a [[#Català|sobre]] o bé {{e|ca|sobre}} amb prioritat baixa incloent-ho com a canvis estètics on calgui fer altres canvis. Si es queda així, caldrà eliminar l'id de les plantilles de secció de llengua que es quedaran només com a unificació de noms per evitar errors i la introducció de denominacions alternatives. No pas. Surten en vermell i si hi faig clic s'obre la creació d'una entrada nova en blanc, com quan es fa a través del buscador. Fa dues setmanes encara m'apareixien en verd i tot anava bé. Val, ja ho veig. En mòbil no té sentit, tot i que en l'anglès surt verd, no és possible que funcioni perquè no admet una precàrrega. No funciona amb el vector vell però sí amb el nou. Amb la pista del Pablo, està relacionat amb el mateix tema que #Enllaços a seccions de llengua, és a dir, un canvi en el format dels encapçalaments. Sembla que he aconseguit recuperar-ho, tot i que el giny té un desfasament de 6 anys amb l'anglès. Ho podeu confirmar?, amb quin navegador i quina aparença, vector-2010, vector-2022 o la que sigui. Fa un mes ja vaig donar la tabarra, però algú més versat en importar mòduls i plantilles del viccionari anglès podria donar una ullada al mòdul i la plantilla kanjitab i veure la viabilitat d'importar-los? És el que permet disseccionar els lemes japonesos en els kanjis que els componen, cosa molt útil per accedir ràpidament a les informacions dels caràcters.

Acabe d'adonar-me que els enllaços que posa «Modifica» al costat dels títols de secció que es generen amb plantilla, com ara Traduccions o Derivats, si hi accedeixes et redirigeix a editar la pàgina de la pròpia plantilla, i no la de la secció de l'article en el qual estàs. Arreglat, amb l'enllaç [modifica] amagat en seccions de nivell 4, tipus ==== Secció ====. Fa temps que no funcionava amb mòbil. Amb vector-2010 era el mateix problema anterior dels enllaços a seccions de llengua i dels enllaços verds. Amb aparences anteriors, timeless i monobook, queda igualment arreglat encara surt l'enllaç modificant la plantilla. Si surt algun usuari amb aquestes aparences se suposa que serà algun veterà. Seccions generades amb plantilla

Nota: fil continuació de l’anterior.

Haurem de fer un pensament. El problema és que generar una secció amb plantilla implica que l'enllaç modifica vagi a modificar la plantilla, i no veig que això es pugui canviar. Inicialment es feia tot així, amb l'única opció de modificar tota la pàgina, i s'ha anat canviant. Primer, es van canviar les seccions de llengua encapsulant la plantilla en el format de secció == {{-ca-}} ==. Segon, es van eliminar les plantilles de seccions de categories lèxiques per fer-les amb text, tipus === Verb ===, per poder editar-les. Ara les que queden són de seccions inferiors: Categoria:Plantilles de secció. El seu propòsit és facilitar l'edició escrivint menys (p. ex. {{-trad-}} en lloc de ==== Traduccions ====) i mantenir encapçalaments unificats ("Notes" en lloc de "Nota", "Notes d'ús", etc.) Les opcions són: la primera (==== {{-der-}} ====), la segona (==== Derivats ====) o la francesa (==== {{S|der}} ====) amb fr:Template:S i una llista tancada d'opcions. Jo sincerament crec que ho podríem deixar com a text, com s'ha fet amb els encapçalaments de categories lèxiques, i simplement estipular uns títols unificats i que hi estiguen estipulats al llibre de estil. Em sembla l'opció més senzilla, i no és tant de treball ficar ==== Traduccions ==== en compte de {{{-trad-}}}. A més, açò facilita quan vols modificar un apartat concret. Hi ha una secció amb un títol llarg difícilment normalitzable en text: {{-comp-}} "Compostos i expressions". Això és un calaix de sastre. Inicialment eren frases fetes, gairebé en col·lisió amb Wikiquote-Viquidites, a l’estil del DCVB, sense entrada pròpia i incloent la definició. Després s’hi van afegir locucions, amb entrada pròpia. Els mots compostos van alternant entre aquesta secció i {{-der-}} "Derivats". D’entrada, crec que tots els mots compostos s’haurien de traslladar a "derivats". Amb això ens quedarien locucions i frases fetes, que es podria simplificar en "locucions" si es van netejant les frases fetes sense entrada, o potser encara millor traslladar-ho tot a derivats. --Vriullop (discussió) 09:32, 15 jul 2024 (CEST)

A special election has been called to fill additional vacancies on the U4C. The call for candidates phase is open from now through July 19, 2024.

The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) is a global group dedicated to providing an equitable and consistent implementation of the UCoC. Community members are invited to submit their applications in the special election for the U4C. For more information and the responsibilities of the U4C, please review the U4C Charter.

In this special election, according to chapter 2 of the U4C charter, there are 9 seats available on the U4C: four community-at-large seats and five regional seats to ensure the U4C represents the diversity of the movement. No more than two members of the U4C can be elected from the same home wiki. Therefore, candidates must not have English Wikipedia, German Wikipedia, or Italian Wikipedia as their home wiki.

After carefully tallying both individual and affiliate votes, the Charter Electoral Commission is pleased to announce the final results of the Wikimedia Movement Charter voting.  

As communicated by the Charter Electoral Commission, we reached the quorum for both Affiliate and individual votes by the time the vote closed on July 9, 23:59 UTC. We thank all 2,451 individuals and 129 Affiliate representatives who voted in the ratification process. Your votes and comments are invaluable for the future steps in Movement Strategy.

The final results of the Wikimedia Movement Charter ratification voting held between 25 June and 9 July 2024 are as follows:

Individual vote:

Out of 2,451 individuals who voted as of July 9 23:59 (UTC), 2,446 have been accepted as valid votes. Among these, 1,710 voted “yes”; 623 voted “no”; and 113 selected “–” (neutral). Because the neutral votes don’t count towards the total number of votes cast, 73.30% voted to approve the Charter (1710/2333), while 26.70% voted to reject the Charter (623/2333).

Affiliates vote:

Out of 129 Affiliates designated voters who voted as of July 9 23:59 (UTC), 129 votes are confirmed as valid votes. Among these, 93 voted “yes”; 18 voted “no”; and 18 selected “–” (neutral). Because the neutral votes don’t count towards the total number of votes cast, 83.78% voted to approve the Charter (93/111), while 16.22% voted to reject the Charter (18/111).

Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation:

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees voted not to ratify the proposed Charter during their special Board meeting on July 8, 2024. The Chair of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees, Nataliia Tymkiv, shared the result of the vote, the resolution, meeting minutes and proposed next steps.  

With this, the Wikimedia Movement Charter in its current revision is not ratified.

M'explico, he unificat el criteri de les plantilles de definició meta, tipus {{forma-p}}, {{sinònim}}, etc.: amb majúscula inicial i punt final pel català i minúscula inicial sense punt final per altres llengües. El criteri no era uniforme i així està en consonància amb les definicions en català i en altres llengües amb les traduccions. En el cas ca-forma-conj no havia comprovat les categoritzacions.
